Hiigaran BBI/BHI-78 Updates
This is a preview of the upcoming Hiigaran BHI-78 Battleship for TFS v2.9.
The BHI-78 (BBI-78) Battleship is the most powerful capital-class ship fielded by the Hiiagaran fleet, equipped with powerful Ion Cannon turrets and ASM-25G Torpedo launchers. The ASM-25G is strongest yield torpedo fielded by the Hiigaran military.

Vaygr FC-12B Preview for v2.9
The Vaygr FC-12B Assault Fighter is a variant of the FF-12A optimized for the interception of corvette squadrons at standoff range.
The FC-12B variant forgoes some of the FF-12As maneuverability and its anti-fighter medium-range missile launchers for a single long-range cluster missile launcher and plasma lance cannon, but retains the FF-12As standard pulse laser cannon for self-defense. This configuration makes this variant of the Assault Fighter extremely effective at dispatching Corvettes at medium to long ranges.

HD user interface progress for v2.9
This is a preview of the HD (16:9 aspect ratio) optimizations I am working on for TFS v2.9. These alterations aim to introduce high-resolution UI textures and rescale crucial UI elements for 16:9 displays in order to remove or reduce the stretching of the default UI elements.
The following modifications are outlined below:
1) High-resolution taskbar icons
2) Rescaled ship icons and high-resolution subsystem icons
3) Rescaled ship and research information display boxes
4) Rescaled Unit Cap list (takes up less screen real estate, resulting in less clutter on-screen in 16:9 resolutions)![HD user interface progress for v2.9]()

This is the new and improved Vaygr Interceptor Frigate (FFP-31).
Compared to the standard Assault Frigate (FFK-31), the Interceptor Frigate features a larger power-plant and two extra thrusters giving it the agility and speed of a Corvette-class ship. Its low speed is more than compensated by its thick armor plating and heavy armament: the FHK is equipped with three Destroyer-class mass driver turrets and two lateral mine launchers for devastating capital ships with, and has two advanced concussion missile launchers for engaging fighters and corvettes.

Hiigaran Strategic Bomber (BF-16B)
The BF-16B Strategic Bomber is specifically designed to engage large capital ships and to function as a counter to heavy cruisers and battlecruisers. The BF-16B was conceived in response to advances in anti-strike craft hull defense weapons on newer capital ship designs that were reducing the survivability of tactical bombers. Unlike tactical bombers that have short-range weapons with a high rate of fire, the strategic bomber engages its target from standoff ranges with anti-ship torpedoes, outside the range of most hull defense weapons. This makes the strategic bomber well suited for taking down cruiser-class ships in one or two volleys at the expense of an extremely slow reload speed. Strategic bombers are most effective when focus their attack on a single high-value target, and are less effective when engaging numerous smaller ships such as frigate groups.

Hiigaran Light Cruiser (CLG-88)
The CLG-88 Torpedo Cruiser is an advanced light cruiser design focusing on long-range guided munitions as its only offensive weapon system. While it suffers from relatively weak armor protection, it features high-power thrusters and main engines that grant it the agility and speed of smaller destroyer-class ships. The torpedo cruiser out-ranges destroyer and heavy cruiser class ships, making it highly efficient at picking off destroyers and even heavy cruisers if they maximize their distance to avoid return fire.

Vaygr Tactical Bomber (FB-15)
This is the Neo-Taiidan Empire's successor to the Imperial Kaark attack bomber. It was developed and fielded as part of the Neo-Taiidani contribution to the Vaygr war effort, and ended up supplying many Vaygr squadrons. The design philosophy of this ship emphasizes survivability and long-range endurance. As such it is equipped with a self-defense jamming system and kinetic autocannon giving it limited protection against strike craft. It compares favorably with the much more numerous and smaller Vaygr FB-11 series of tactical attack bombers, but is larger and less agile. The FB-15 belongs to the "Tactical Bomber" sub-class: it performs short attack runs at close-range with low-velocity unguided plasma bombs, which are accurate enough to reliably hit capital ships and subsystems, but not quite as accurate against frigates owing to their low muzzle velocity. The range of their weapons and attack patterns make them vulnerable to all standard hull defense weapons and are best deployed with escorts as weak formations will frequently need to be recalled to capital ships for repairs.

Hiigaran Heavy Cruiser (CHK-76)
The CHK-76 Heavy Cruiser is produced by the LiirHra, a Kiith specializing in starship and weapon systems technology. It sits between Light Cruisers (CL) and Battlecruisers (BL) in the ship roster. Whereas light cruisers rely on long-range weapons and have little more armor than destroyers, heavy cruisers are designed with heavy armor and medium-to-close range turreted weapons to outlast other capital ships and frigates in a slugfest. A fully upgraded heavy cruiser is comparable in durability to a stock battlecruiser and can target multiple ships simultaneously with its turret arrays.

Hiigaran Heavy Battlecruiser (BHI-78)
The BHI-78 Heavy Battlecruiser, colloquially known as a Battleship, is the fully-armed version of the Hiigaran Battlecruiser chassis. It features a powerful anti-capital ship torpedo launcher and second-generation defensive weapons: short-range missiles and plasma cannons for anti-strike craft defense. This grants the BHI a capable anti-fighter capability unlike the more spartan BLI-78 Battlecruiser.
